Insider Tips and Tricks

Loads of tips and tricks for Corel and Photoshop. Check out our INSPIRATIONS page for design tips and links.

Quick tip of the moment - Adobe Photoshop®: To draw a "perfect" circle or square, hold down the shift key while dragging your mouse.
Dye Sublimation
Keepsake Box Tip #6 :
With a fresh clean sheet ont he press, sublimate the two sides at one time. Set up the designs 1/4" or 1/8" away from each other and fold the page over. No tape needed! Press it for a little longer than usual and with a firmer pressure. Remember, don't lay down the piece flat to cool, lean it vertically so it is barely touching an item to cool.

Plaque Tip #3:
When decorating plaques that have an edge, prep the area first. By skimming the edge where the live surface are and the plaque edging meet lightly with a pair of scissors.

  Plaque Tip #18:
Another tip when sublimating a plaque, don't fold the print transfer around the entire plaque. Pick 2 opposing corners (top right and bottom left for example) to have the paper wrap around. By doing this, you allow for the moisture to release and are less likely to cause bubbles on your plaque edge.

ChromaLuxe Tip #26:
Pressing items with an easel attached to the back (an item from the ChromaLuxe line for example) should not alter the way an item is pressed or the pressing time.

Photoshop with Type
Tip #32:

For text on a circle, use the Ellipse Tool and then simply click on the path with the type tool selected.

  Photoshop with Gradients Tip #10:
When working with the gradient tool, the shorter "drag" you have when you pull your mouse across the area, the shorter the gradient span. The longer the drag, the smoother and longer your gradient will be.
